VEGA ANZPAC attains coveted Crestron Master Certified Programmer accreditation.
In the fast-paced world of AV technology, it takes a certain level of expertise and ingenuity to stand out from the crowd. Rebecca Ottley, Advanced Technical Services Team lead for VEGA GLOBAL ANZPAC’s Dunedin office, has proven herself to be just that kind of standout professional.
In March of this year, Ottley achieved a major milestone in her career by earning the highly coveted Crestron Master Certified Programmer accreditation. As one of fewer than twenty programmers in the entire country to attain this elite designation, Ottley’s achievement is nothing short of remarkable.
She is now the second person on the VEGA team to earn this prestigious accreditation, cementing the company’s reputation as a leader in the AV industry.
Stephen Ward, Sales Director (NZ) for VEGA GLOBAL’s ANZPAC region says that the accreditation holds a lot of kudos in the industry. “It attests to Rebecca’s in-depth knowledge of every aspect of programming a Crestron control system.”
Rebecca gained the accreditation after completing Creston’s programming training track and an intensive Certification Exam. Ward adds that Jeremy Telfer, who is part of the ATS team in the VEGA Wellington office, is also on track to be a Master Certified Programmer.
Rebecca joined the Dunedin office in 2022 after a successful 15 year tenure at the University of Otago, where, amongst other things, she designed, programmed and implemented over 250 AV systems including large-scale construction projects in complex clinical, research and teaching environments.
Stephen is excited about the skills that Rebecca has brought to the business. “She has a solid reputation in the technical community and has earned numerous accreditations throughout her career.” He points out that the real-world experience Rebecca gained at the University of Otago is an invaluable asset to the VEGA team.
For Rebecca, joining VEGA provides an ideal opportunity to extend her skill sets and apply her expertise to a broader range of sectors. “I can share my knowledge with other education providers while learning about other markets,” she says.
Rebecca is passionate about problem solving and developing creative out-of-the-box solutions. Her role in VEGA involves programming AV systems, troubleshooting for the company’s wide range of clients and doing some design work for the Sales team to help with future projects.
Rebecca’s appointment to the Dunedin team aligns with VEGA’s commitment to supporting the Southern Region’s growth. Ward emphasises that building a locally-based team with a variety of skill sets is essential for VEGA to empower organisations in the area to compete on both a national and global level.
